Stephanie! Girl, you do get around! It's good to find you here!

This is an excellent list of do's and don'ts. When I first started, I was forever making some of these mistakes . . . including leaving my URL along with my comment. Was so embarrassed when I learned that that was proper etiquette.

The one thing that makes me shudder now when I see others comment on my blog is when they intentionally attempt to re-direct traffic back to their own sites. It looks . . . insincere and cheap. If you leave a thoughtful enough comment . . . and contribute to the dialogue in a meaningful way, folks will track you down and check out your website without you having to appear so sleazy.

Hey, Beth. We are on the same wavelength! I'm currently writing an article about "toleration" - putting up with crap we really don't have to because of apathy/resistance/fear. By making a small investment - in time, money, or effort - we can transform those regular aggravations into an easier and more productive life.

The time for "putting up with it" is over - especially when we are the ones putting up with ourselves! Let's resolve this junk once and for all and move on to a happier existence.

Yay, snow tires!

My SUMMER tires, on their own larger rims are sitting just outside my gate. It's time to take OFF my studded tires and go with the summer tires. The studded tires have very clearly saved my bacon several times when people have spun out in front of me, in both directions and when deer and elk have crossed the road on my way home to Lyons. Thank heaven for them. I'm always carrying precious cargo--my clients' dogs--up and down the mountain and I get a little obsessed with safety. But the resistance, ahhh.... Too familiar. I've spent my adult lifetime turning over rocks, looking for that source. So today I will borrow the image of your smiling face and bring it here to help me move through three important things on my list. Nothing works as well as camaraderie.

You picked the perfect analogy for me...because I too resist buying snow tires, yet I'm petrified about driving in the snow. Guess I should take your advice ...on the tires as well as the other areas of life where I resist. Thanks!

I couldn't agree more! One of the best ways I've found to overcome resistance is to tap into a fun way to do what I'm resisting, no matter how unorthodox or goofy. Resistance, even resistance to resistance, is one of the main causes of suffering. At its heart is the fear of life, and can be met with compassionate lightheartedness.

Welcome back, Beth!
I loved this story. As a solopreneur with a new business, I resisted thinking of myself as "internet-based" and thus rationalized not stepping into the virtual world of promoting my business. For me, getting clear that just because I was "relationship-based" (ie my clients come to me usually because they met me in person or someone who knows me referred them) didn't mean I could ignore the world of blogs and newsletters, email marketing and social media. I needed the snow tires!
I will say one thing: I want help with these tools -- understanding which to use, how to use them and even a lot of coaching to venture out there. That's where you come in -- thank goodness!

Hi Beth,
The infographic is classic and full of mistakes that I had made before. I still get confused with commas and semi-colons though. I have a WordPress plugin that checks the grammar in my posts. It makes my life a lot easier. :)
